Microwave Repair — Book a Visit Today
We repair residential microwaves, and most of them fail in a handful of predictable ways. The magnetron gives out, so the plate spins and nothing heats. A door switch fails and the unit goes dead the second you shut it. Over-the-range models pull hot air and grease through the filter every night, and in this desert air that grease bakes hard. Turntable motors seize. Control boards go dim or quit taking button presses. A visit starts with power coming in, then the door switches, then the high-voltage side, tested with the unit discharged first. We tell you what failed and what the fix takes before anything gets ordered. Call us and describe what you saw and heard.

The microwave symptoms we hear most
- "It runs but my coffee is still cold" Magnetron, high-voltage diode, or capacitor failure
- "Dead when I close the door" Interlock switch or blown line fuse
- "Loud buzzing every time it starts" Failing capacitor or worn magnetron
- "Plate sits still while the food heats" Turntable motor, coupler, or broken roller ring
- "Buttons light up but nothing happens" Membrane keypad or control board fault
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Try the microwave in a different outlet so you can rule out a tripped GFCI or a dead circuit.
- 2Look at the door latch tabs for cracks or missing plastic. A bent latch stops the unit cold.
- 3On an over-the-range model, pull the grease filter and hold it up to a light to see how plugged it is.
- 4Make sure the turntable coupler is seated on the shaft and the roller ring still has all its wheels.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call us or fill in the form and describe what you hear, smell, or see. Water on the floor. A clicking compressor, a burning odor. Small details narrow the cause before anyone drives out.
- Step 2
We schedule the visit
You pick a window that fits your day, and we confirm the make and model so common parts ride along in the van. Tell us if the unit sits in the garage or on the patio. Heat changes what we check first.
- Step 3
Diagnose and repair
Our technician tests the unit, explains what failed, and lays out your options in plain words. Most repairs finish that same visit. If a part has to be ordered, you'll know before we leave.

Guides & troubleshooting
Microwave Repair — quick answers
Is a microwave worth repairing?
Depends on the part. Door switches, turntable motors, couplers, and fuses are straightforward fixes. A failed magnetron in a small countertop unit is a harder call. Built-in and over-the-range models usually justify the repair, since replacing one means cabinet work.
Why does mine spark inside?
Arcing usually means the waveguide cover burned through, a rack support lost its coating, or metal touched the wall. Stop using it. Sparks scorch the cavity, and if you keep running it they can take out the magnetron.
Can I open it up myself?
We do not recommend it. The high-voltage capacitor holds a dangerous charge long after the unit is unplugged, and it has to be discharged with the right tool before anyone touches the internals. That part is not a homeowner job.
Does desert heat affect a microwave?
Garage and outdoor-kitchen units feel it most. Heat rising above the vent, plus dust pulled through the cooling fan, makes the magnetron run hotter than it was designed to. Clean vents and airflow around the cabinet add life to the electronics.
Why does the fan run after I stop it?
On many models that is normal cooldown. The fan clears heat out of the magnetron area. If it never shuts off, or kicks on by itself, a thermostat or control relay may be stuck and worth a look.
Do you work on built-in and over-the-range units?
Yes. Over-the-range models add a vent hood, filters, and a heavier mounting bracket. Built-in trim kits need careful removal. We work on all major brands as an independent shop. Call us with the model number if you have it.

Why homeowners call us
- Built for desert heatSummer here punishes appliances. Compressors run long, coils choke on fine dust, and garage refrigerators fight ambient air near 115 degrees. We look for heat-driven failures first, because that's usually where the trouble started.
- Any major brandWe work as an independent company on all major residential brands: refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, and freezers. One crew handles both the kitchen and the laundry room, so you aren't juggling separate calls.
- Straight explanationsYou hear what part failed and why, without a wall of jargon. If a repair doesn't make sense on an aging unit, we say that too. Then you're deciding with real information instead of guesswork.
- Six-state coverageFrom Surprise out across the Southwest, our service area covers six states. The approach doesn't change from town to town: careful diagnosis, a tidy work area, and a clear plan before we start pulling anything apart.
- All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
- Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
